Atlanta show visit

The beds were very comfortable. The room service food was excellent and more than enough. Several times the glasses and newspapers were not removed from the room. The location was ideal for working the Altanta Market show.

Beautiful hotel, all the 5star

Beautiful hotel, all the 5star amenities. High Velocity is the pub style restaurant, Sear is the gourmet pretender. Enjoyed High Velocity's food better. The indoor/outdoor pool was great, although there is a roof panel missing, so in March it was a tad chilly in there. Close to all the downtown attractions, Coke, CNN, GWCC. Only thing missing was a Business Center with Internet access. Had to pay 40 cents per minute at the FedEx place in the basement, which of course was not open 24 hours. Did not want to lug my laptop.

We attended a recent sporting event in Atlanta and stayed here. The hotel was booked solid and we checked in at "prime time". Though the place was mobbed, the staff was pleasant and efficient. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. We were just there over night, so we didn't get to take advantage of all of the ammenities but appreciated they were available. The only complaint was with regard to the parking. The hotel lot was full and we had to park at a location down the street. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

The pillows were comfy, the location was great, style. No main room light switch (afraid of dark, had to walk to lamp).“The hotel was beautiful, staff was friendly, amenities a little overpriced, very comfortable and convenient to everything downtown and Marta access. What I would expect from a hotel of this star rating.”

The Marriott Marquis is one of four

The Marriott Marquis is one of four host hotels for Dragoncon every year, and is my favorite by far. It is central to the convention activities, being bounded on either side by the Hyatt and the Hilton, and it houses several of the larger rooms used in the convention, such as the dealer's room and the exhibition room. This year there was also a move to shift some of the concert performances to it as well, with some success.I prefer the Marriott over the Hyatt for this convention because the Hyatt, being the main hotel for the con activities, is also the loudest, and even if you don't go to sleep until 4am, the sheer volume from the lobby level filters up and keeps you up - even through earplugs. The Marriott is quieter, and evidently has better soundproofing. While there are still crowds below, their noise doesn't intrude when you don't want it.It is an easy walk between the three main hotels (the Sheraton is a bit farther afield), and there are great eating options on both ends of the cost spectrum. We dined at Sear, the high end steak restaurant, and had fantastic steaks. I also grabbed breakfast and lunch at the little gift shop on the first floor, next to the Starbucks. They carry a great yogurt/granola/fruit cup for breakfast, and will make sandwiches to carry for lunch. As I sat all day at my bazaar table in the art room, having lunch ready early was essential. The rooms themselves are wonderful. We have a room with two double beds, the bathroom is roomy and sleek, and the beds are comfy. Plenty of pillows are available, and the concierge was able to help me with several requests, including a package I was expecting and a charger for my phone. When we left our GPS there, initially the desk ignored our request, but a renewed search found it and they delivered it to our house within a week. I would recommend the place, but if you are comingo n Labor Day Weekend (Dragoncon) do book early! It's already sold out a month after the last con is over.

Location was great for business needs. Not what was expected of a 4 star Marriott.“Comfortable for the business traveler, however would not reccommend for couples or family. Also, taxi is a must at night unless you are a seasoned traveler in big cities.”

Nice sheets.$26.00 for parking.“The Marriott Marquis was fantastic! The room was clean, minus the ice bucket still had the liner and water in it from previous guest, the sheets and bed were very comfy and the overall stay was very pleasant. My only beef with this hotel is the $26.00 for parking despite being an overnight guest.”

The architecture was amazing. Room service was fast. The cleaning staff woke me up early and just came in while I was in the room.“Great appeal, nice staff. A limited room service menu with quick delivery. The hotel is quiet and comfortable. Be sure to lock your door from the inside or the cleaning lady will be in first thing in the morning.”
