Reasonable hotel at afforable price

All rooms have ocean view. The ocean is across the street, next to the middle of the Malecon (= a 13 miles long boardwalk connecting between the tourist zone and the cruise ships docking area).

Good location: 25 - 30 minutes of a brisk walk to downtown Mazatlan, mostly along the ocean boardwalk. The hotel is located outside the tourist zone so most people around are local folks and the area is less crowded than the golden zone (tourist zone).

Just one block away (eastward) there is Ley - a big department store where you can buy anything you want, including food at much lower prices than you get in the tourist zone.

There is a bus stop at the front of the hotel. It is very convenient and safe to ride buses. It costs 8 Mexican Pesos per person per ride ($0.75). The drivers and local passengers are very helpful and courteous though they know little English.

The hotel amenities are reasonable but not great. We found the mattresses to be too hard for our backs. During most of the day you can hear noise from large families that visit the hotel or from maintenance crews.

The restaurant / bar at the hotel serves good food whole day long though it is mostly empty.

For Internet connection you need to pay 30 Pesos per 30 minutes or 50 Pesos per one hour. Their desktop computers are located near the front desk and are always available. No wireless network connection available so your laptop will be of no use.

The swimming pool is small, intended for young children. No other sport facilities are there.

I can wait!

The hotel was clean, and efficient, but on the weekends the little ones take over the pool. The location was good if you want to shop in the downtown markets. The price was equivilent to some of the hotels in the Gold Zone out of season!
The beach is right across the street, however there are only 2-4 tiki huts for shade, and these are taken (again, on the weekends)by large families early in the a.m., and the people stay for the day!
