If you are looking for a great little hotel in the heart of the quarter, look no further than the Andrew Jackson! It's in a great central location, quiet and charming, yet close enough to all the fun. No pool, but a three-block walk will take you to their sister hotel the St. Pierre where they were more than happy to have us come swim and sit (and drink!) by the pool. Staff is super friendly - at both hotels - no matter what time of night or early morning we came strolling in there was always a friendly face to greet us. My husband and I try to get down there every year, this year we took my sister and a friend - we all arrived in NOLA at about 10:30 am and the hotel had our rooms ready for us that soon before normal check in time. This place is so worth a try, we will definetly be back!

I made my reservation through the travel website for April 11th - 14th 2007 (have since canceled and changed hotel.) At that time of the reservation there was no where to request a room with 2 dbl beds. The next morning I called the hotel myself to see if they could help me with this. The man at the front desk was so rude and told me that there would be an extra charge of $75.00 per night. I didn't want a bigger room or a special view just 2 beds instead of 1. He said that's just the way it was because I booked on line just to get a cheaper room, basicly calling me cheap. I tried to explain I needed a package deal with airfare and hotel and that's the reason I did it that way. Needles to say I called the travel agency and they were GREAT! They worked with me to change hotels and waved the fee. My husband & I were married in New Orleans 14yrs. ago & go back every year. Believe me we will never stay here.

We LOVED staying at the Andrew Jackson. Stayed there on a spring break trip with my daughter. They greeted us by FIRST NAMES when we walked in the lobby - that was nice! The staff was so personable. Rooms are huge; eclectic mix of furniture, bed was wonderful. It's an old building, but tons of charm! We will definitely stay there again.

I am a student and went to New Orleans for Spring Break. I was a bit nervous because of all the bad press N.O. had gotten. I felt very safe here and was never afraid in the hotel, my room, or walking to and from the hotel. You can easily walk to Bourbon Street and all around the Quarter. The parking sucks, but if you are planning on spending a great deal of time in the Quarter then it won't matter, just park and leave it at Jackson Square. I loved this hotel for its traditional french architecture, accessibilty to Bourbon St, and the courtyard was perfect New Orleans style.

Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is very nice, clean, high ceilings. The air conditioner worked well which was great cause it was over 100 degrees plus there is a ceiling fan. The court yard is very nice to sit in during the evening. There is no pool but sitting around the fountain int he courtyard is nice. Antiques in the rooms, I dont think that this hotel would be very good for children under 10-12 years. Very easy to get to Bourbon st and the cathedral. We parked our car for the whole stay and walked everywhere we needed and wanted to go. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bathroom is small but has great water pressure and shower heads. We got in town early and the staff checked us in without a problem. The parking area is small so if you want the free parking you cannot have a full size truck or van/large vehicle. The staff directed us to parking by the river that has security and it was $*/day which isnt bad for the area. We will stay here on our next trip!

Very similar to European hotels -- small, but charming. An extremely comfortable bed, clean room, excellent service and convenient, quiet location. The only negatives are insufficient lot parking and a somewhat cramped room. No lingering hurricane damage, for those who are concerned.

Quaint(small). Historical(old). It's that but a great place to stay. Friendly staff on the front desk make you feel welcome. The locaton is good Each room has mismatched furniture and no two are alike but that's OK. It's my "home" when in New Orleans.
