Until the 4th of our stay when my girlfriend located a rodent in our room. The second time she saw it we called the front desk an demanded to be moved. They said they would move us where ever then gave us two rooms to choose from. I booked the rooms in advanced and asked to check out immediately and they stated that we couldn't be refunded because the room was prepaid. We insisted that we needed to leave and the front desk stated that we needed to deal with the travel company we booked the room with. They made it seem like that this issue would never happen and like it was our problem not theirs. This is an older motel. But if you don't want to spend a ton of money it's a good deal. The Queen rooms are tiny (about 11 X 12) with the bath slightly less than half that size. But they are clean and have all the items you need. The A/C was off when we came into the room which made it alittle funky smelling but when cooled down it went away. After the initial shock of how small the room was (and a couple jokes about it)it wasn't so bad. The pool is also tiny. The staff are nice and helpful. I think they do the best they can with what layout they have. Just like the name says its a value compared to motels in this area. The deck on the 3rd floor felt scary, and the internet serviced sucked, I couldn't sign on to the internet if my life depended on it, we called guest service and they came up but could not help us. The pool was tiny compared to what you see on their webpage, and I saw a cockroach crawling on the wall. The staff was very friendly and give directions to any place you need, but the rooms are not worth the price even if you are just sleeping there. They feel cramped and humid. I would not stay here again. The lobby doors were locked and I had to check into my room via a "bank teller window" on the side of the building. The room was very small and the top door lock was broken. The guys at the desk are very helpful,friendly,and professional. Yes, when I first arrived I wanted a room with more space,but think about it your here to just sleep. The helpful staff is what changed my mind. I like when the employees make you feel welcomed. The place is not filth or foul smelling in my room. Plenty of cameras watching. Made me comfortable. Not far at all from my destinations and very close easy access to San Diego Zoo and Sea World. The front desk has tickets for both places. Laundry room 1 washer 1dryer 1 drink vending machine and 1 snack machine and 7/11 next door.
