Upon arrival in Natal we took a bus to Praia da Pipa which is surfer's paradise. A very relaxed place indeed, we couldn't quite figure out if people were bored or just tired all the time, very demure and not interested despite my portuguese efforts (maybe they were expecting some german or scandinavian or smthg).
Also, many Londoners were there with their 3 wheel prams and big rent a cars. A paradise that has already been tourist-ised but worth a visit if you fance remoteness with comfort! We stayed in the Pousada Vera My house - the manageress sported a white tshirt with England 66 most of the time and a flag of St Georges was painted onto the side.
Our 'companions' there were an argentinian, some very rude italians and a friendly enough but incomprehensible swiss man from Neuchatel. He had made the trek from Switzerland WITH his surfboard. Now that's dedication..
We left Pipa 2 days later to get to Sao Luis where we are now for my birthday
