Seattle was our first stop in the United States. We got there in the early afternoon, found our hotel, and headed into town. Our first stop was to check out the popular Pike Place Market. It is a neat market- many floors, mainly indoors on wooden plankways, and offers a selection of gifts, clothes, flowers, and food. It is the site of the famous seafood shop where they throw the salmon- what energy the fish mongers had there!
After walking around the market we headed down to the waterfront. There were lots of little shops and restaurants along the piers, all pushing the nautical theme. When we finished exploring the waterfront we headed to the huge park in town, and the site of the Seattle Space Needle. It was very quiet walking around this time of year, but we had a nice time taking in all the sites.
It was getting late when we made it back to hotel so we headed over to the Denny's next door for a quick bite before turning in.
