We finally got a sleep in! For me it’s past 9 am, so 10.30 was a real treat. I slowly crept out of bed and had breakfast. Breakfast was dry coco pops, there was no milk in the house.
Dad was invited to a bible study breakfast at 9.30, so Mum, Christie and I stayed at the barn. We all thought Dad would be an hour maybe two, instead he was four hours. I figured after the two and a half hour mark, he must have been caught up by other people not just him rambling on. So I was like ok, I can handle this mainly because we had T.V, which by the way had over 300 channels on cable so I was fine. I think we watched the British Whose’s Line… and then Mission Impossible: 3, which is pretty good (better than the 2nd). Christie and I went for a walk to see the baby foal and try find Dad. We didn’t get very close though.
When Dad came back we went shopping, as promised, but first we got lunch. We ate at a restaurant where you pick your meat, then you get two sides, but we didn’t have a clue what we were doing and the ‘black’ servers were getting very annoyed with us. We went to this shopping centre with no Wal-Mart, no the shops were just like normal department stores that we get in Australia (JcPenney, Sears, Macy’s, Dillards).
After walking around the shops we drove back to the barn to get ready for the meeting. The horses were around on the other side of the barn and were quite close. I walked up to the foal and mother and he was so cute, he looked at me with his legs wobbly and ears perked up. Christie and Mum found some carrots in the fridge to feed them. So Christie tried it first and kept dropping the carrot when the horse would put his mouth on her hand. Finally I tried and it was easy they don’t even put their teeth on your hand, but I did drop a few too because the horse couldn’t get his lips on the carrot.
We had a long job of setting up for this meeting as it was the first time we would open up the boxes of the driving tour. So us girls decided we had to organise the boxes (as girls do) so that at each meeting we wouldn’t have to get all the boxes out every meeting. After we found all the books and dvd’s we needed, everything went into a back room were Christie and I sorted everything into boxes, we did it really fast, but I was wearing a white shirt by the end it was dirty though?. The meeting went well, the room was pretty much full.
After, Jeff and Terry took us out for dinner. The first place we went to was closed, so the boys suggested Sonic. This place was pretty cool, you don’t go inside at all. It has parking bays were you have a menu screen and order there, then they come out and give you your food. So we get back to the car to go home and Dad notices a flat tire, Jeff directs us to a garage to pump it back up, where we hope to make it back to the barn. The worry was in the morning if it was going to be flat, how we would make it to a service station. - Carla
