Dick and I first visited El Paso in 1990. We flew into Reno, NV on Thanksgiving Day, met Ted & Yili for dinner and the next day we headed for Las Vegas. Finding no room at the inn there we went on to Laughlin where I slept in the car and Dick slept in the Keno Lounge. Eventually we ended up at our destination, El Paso. Dick had been stationed at Ft. Bliss in 1957-1960 while in the Army. Now, he showed it to me. We went into Mexico, McCulligan Canyon, and drove up to White Sands. It was one of the best trips we've taken together.
We came back to El Paso in 2001 after Dave's wedding and the city has gotten way too big and I didn't enjoy it then. We had considered moving there in the 60's and even looked at home in 1990, but I wouldn't go there again.
