This place was Amazing

April 6th, 2005. Another day of rest today. Wasn't ready to move on yet, so spent the day making reservations and planning the route from here on to Kingman, Arizona. Once in Kingman, we'll decide whether we want to go North, West, East or back South after picking up a few more states. This was a great motel today with a guest laundry, nearly across from our room. Ordered out for supper. Called Papa Johns using one of those plastic stand up advertisements in the room and after Peggy ordered they told her they didn't deliver to this motel. That sparked a lively discussion between the Peggy and the Papa Johns. After a discussion with the front desk, I took the nice plactic advertisement up to the front desk and told her they don't deliver. Her reply was: 'Do you want to call in an order? I have the telephone number.' My reply: 'No, I don't want anything from Papa Johns' We ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut, no hassle, they deliver. Didn't take Pizza Hut long to deliver. Already got the pizza, sometimes I wait longer than this to place an order in a Pizza Hut. they must need the business or are really proficient. Great pizza.
Picked up the final bill for the motel: Room charges: $229.35, State Tax: $13.77, City/County Tax: $20.64, Total bill for the three days: $263.76. Another place with a high tax rate; 6% for state tax and 9% for a combined city/county tax.

It's a great day outside - warm and sunny - but decided to take it easy, get some rest - do some laundry (great guest laundry right here in the motel) - and just kick back.
Sometime yesterday I scratched or did something to my bottom lip in the corner of my mouth. Last night I could feel it swelling up and looks like the infection wants to 'pop'. I put some compresses on it last night and today it may be a little better but still waiting for skin to pop on it's own with the puss.
Took a walk outside and the pool looked very inviting but decided I'd pass it up today. Spent some time on the computer catching up with my reading, etc. and have been watching CNN and the various news events. So many recent deaths - saw President and Mrs Bush along with former Presidents' Bush, Sr and Bill Clinton; Secretary of State, C. Rice and a few others from the United States paying their respects to Pope John Paul II. So many people in line for hours. Then the death of Prince Rainier and the 5,000 attendees for the funeral of Johnny Cochran in Los Angeles. All so sad.
All the TV programs here are one hour earily than in Eastern Standard Time - takes awhile getting used to.
Tomorrow we're headed to South Padre Island - that's another beautiful place...
