Front Street Georgetown, SC
Georgetown, SC March to August 2008
Another opportunity arose to visit this pretty little town where I worked for 5 years before retiring. The clinic there had 3 psychiatrist leave suddenly and asked me to help fill in until they hired a permanent psychiatrist. So I worked again with some old friends from before and made new acquaintances too. One friend actually retired and I was fortunate enough to be able to attend her party. Georgetown is small and historic, one of the states early ports. The Rice Museum on Front St will tell you a lot about that industry. And there are shops and restaurants in a quaint Harbor Walk along the River, marred somewhat by the paper mill in sight in the distance. What is an eye sore to some is also a positive economic driving force and major employer.
