Came back home for a day
5 Stars This place was Amazing
Nels Monson homesteaded Templeton in 1874, came to United States from Sweden in 1872. I married his grandson, Richard Monson in 1950 and lived at Templeton about 25 years. The farm had a champion dairy herd, produced the most buterfat per cow of any in the US. The valley there was a community of dairy farmers and lumbermen. It was somewhat remote and sometimes difficult to get there, so there was no store or hotel.

This didn't deter the pioneers who lived there who had happy lives and produced many fine children.
