Hood River, Oregon - Dreams come true--We are at the Columbia Gorge

Hood River, Oregon: This place was Amazing; The Columbia River-kiteboarders at The Dalles

Yesterday, we arrived at the Columbia Gorge. Stopped at The Dalles and watched the kite boarders on the Columbia River. It was very colorful. Several people from Canada there. Toured the historic downtown area and then on to Hood River. Here there were windsurfers and kiteboarders. There was not lots of wind, so there were only about 20 at the location where we were. Saw some people fishing catching steelhead and sauger out of the river. Drove across to Washington state, and walked downtown to checkout the shops. Stopped in the Dog River Coffee Co. and downloaded our pictures. We checked into the Hood River Hotel downtown--which is very nice. It is on the register of historic places. We really like Hood River, and will spend some more time here this morning before driving on up the Gorge to Portland.
