We stayed overnight in Raleigh while on a roadtrip to Gordonsville, Virginia. We had never visited this city before and were pleasantly surprised by what we found there. We had dinner at a place called Bogart's. Our server there was very personable and made several good recommendations. Our meal was very good.

For breakfast the next morning, we found Cafe Carolina quite by accident. It's a very nice bakery with lots of yummy breakfast selections and good coffee. There's outside seating on the patio and since the weather was perfect, we chose a table out there.

Overall, Raleigh was a friendly, pleasant place for an overnight stop. It helped get a vacation off to a great start.
