Neecee icon Annapolis, Maryland - Looking for a few good men

Annapolis, Maryland
3 Stars  This place was Average
We were visiting the DC area and decided to stay in the Annapolis Maryland area overnight. Short drive from DC and we were there. Stopped at an observation point prior to proceeding over a bridge into Annapolis itself.

Annapolis retains much of its colonial heritage. It's where George Washington resigned as commander in chief and where Congress ratified the treaty to end the Revolutionary War. More than 1,500 historic colonial buildings are scattered along the narrow brick streets and alleys (more than in any other town in the country).

It's also a college town, home to the United States Naval Academy and to St. John's College, with its 'Great Books' curriculum.

There were plenty of naval personnel walking around town. We found a seafood restaurant near the town center and enjoyed a seafood dinner. That evening we walked along the city docks and had a few drinks while sitting waterside.

On the way back to the hotel, noticed this replica of the African Queen. One of my father's favorite movies. Stopped for a few pictures and then back to the hotel. Debating on going to Baltimore, or traveling a bit further south to Saint Michaels, located on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay.
