Bill parking his bike for the night
We ran pretty good today, but horrible traffic at the Tolls. People of Indiana, have you not heard of electronic toll passes. However, IL does not only have easypass, they have really easy pass, or they will when they are done. They have do not slow down easypass, love this, Why anybody in IL does not have it and is paying cash is beyond me.
Right now things are still under constuction. So traffic is really bad getting to 294. And really bad getting off of 294. We run down into Rockford. I have never seen so many hotels/motels in one place, every major chain. We are looking for wifi service and nearby parking for the bikes. We check into the Red Roof Inn, wifi,nice room, bikes parked right outside. Also cheaper by $20 over the Bates Motel in Newburgh.
Dinner tonight is at the Thunder Bay Grill, a faux Canadian fishing lodge, with a roaring fire, not sure why given it is 80 degrees out. We have walleyed Pike for dinner. Really good dinner, and very reasonable. We have made really good time to this point, We are more than 1/2 way and we cannot check into to Sturgis until Wed night. So should be leisurely riding tomorrow and Tuesday. Weather looks good also. Today frankly was tiring we arrived in Rockford covering almost 500 miles. We are moving about 70-75 mph but we have to stop about every two hours.
