I've been to Peoria many times as I was born there and my most of my Mother's side of the family lives there. It has been my most recent of trips. We went for my friend's wedding. Erin and I have litterally known each other since the very second we were born as our mother's were roommates in the hospital when we were delivered, now almost 23 years ago. The actual wedding took place in Morton IL - I should add that to the log ... Morton, IL is home of Libby (pumpkin mix - the pumpkin pie makers.) Every year Morton has a pumpkin festival, which as kids we always used to attend. It hasn't taken place yet this year - it will take place in October I do believe. However, for more accuracy you should look it up on line. It is a real treat to get to attend Morton during that time. They have a parade and everything pumpkin you could ever want from pumpkin icecream to pumpkin heads. :)
Anyway, getting back to Peoria. Since we are often visiting family while we are there I don't get to enjoy many of the things there are to do there. However, this time my Dad and I took a trip to Lou's drive in. It's very similar to Sonic only it's a home grown type of place. It's a one of a kind with THE BEST HOME MADE ROOTBEER you've ever had. Served in iced mugs directly from a old fashioned keg. It's not much to look at but I will tell you the rootbeer will knock your socks off.
