This was the cabin where we stayed - very private, but not secluded!
My husband and I needed to get away for a few days, but we didn't have much time or money. So, we did a little research for getaway spots in Georgia and found a great little paradise in the North Georgia mountains called Blue Ridge, GA. Although, this is a tourist destination, it's not commercial at all. We really felt like we were part of a community even though we were just visiting for the weekend. For a quiet area, there was plenty to do. We're outdoorsy people, so we really enjoyed the abundance of outdoor activities. Since we were only there for 2 days, we couldn't do everything we wanted to do, but we did get to go hiking and swimming. We plan on going back sometime in the near future and intend to enjoy some canoing and whitewater rafting. We also got a chance to check out some of the nice little shops in town and could have really enjoyed more time doing that. We could have easily spent a whole week there and not been bored.
We rented a cabin which was definitely the way to go. It was very charming and private. The company we rented with was awesome and I just cannot say enough about their staff or the cabin itself. You never know if the pictures you see online are 100% accurate, but their photos didn't do the place justice and the photos seemed too good to be true. The place more than exceeded our expectations for the price. The place was extremely clean - spotless in fact. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of our location and took full advantage of the hot tub on the deck! Our cabin had a stream right off the back deck where the hot tub is located. What a way to relax! I highly recommend that if anyone is looking for a place near Atlanta to get away for a weekend or even a full week, then you should definitely consider checking out Blue Ridge. You just cannot ask for a better experience to get away from your hectic life in the city for a few days. We can't wait to go back!
