Hurricane Dennis struck the Alabama coast and Florida panhandle and damaged the Enstoncia Bridge, which happens to be along the I-10 freeway through Pensacola. The bridge has been repaired and the I-10 reopened a few days ago, but only one lane is open going east. We stopped at the Florida visitors center, but it was closed except for the bathrooms. It did, however, have a lifesized replica of a Navy Blue Angels figher plane. IT was dinner time, so he picked a Chinese restaurant calle China Star, but on the exit to China Star, I saw a sign for Bennigans, so we decided to go there. However, on the way to Bennigans, we saw Hooters, so we went to Hooters for dinner. The wings were good as usual, but they didn't have teh ice cream owl or Daytona wings, eventhough it is Florida, home of Hooters. Got back back to the freeway and decided we should find a place to stay for the night. Pensacola was all booked up because many people were displaced by Dennis, so they filled up all the hotel rooms. Tallahassee was still another two hours and 40 minutes away. We decided to find a hotel in the next town, but I missed the exit. The next exit was was 20 miles away. However, all the hotels in that town were sold out. So we headed on the road again. The next exit was Ponce De Leon (the Famous explorer), a little town with one janky hotel. So that's where we stayed.
