Amy and the low speed gangsters (aka how Lynne entertained herself)
On the advice of just about everyone on tour, we have decided to make Orlando our only Florida show. It is only a small drive so bus call is not until 4am, we have a hotel in stumbling distance, we got a shower this morning, and we'll get another one tomorrow. Life is pretty damn fine!
The venue has a lake out the back, and some of the guys have a little dinghy and are trying to fish. The seniors - Bad Religion, Nofx, Bouncing Souls, The Vandals - have stolen all the good spots overlooking the lake. Fat Mike has his poker table set up in this area, there is a wading pool, and The Vandals have set up a bar outside their own bus. Everyone is relaxed.
There is a drum wars on tonight where Longineu from Yellowcard gets his ass kicked by some young upstart. A couple of bands play a set on the Phenomonauts stage, and Stevie Cauppucino (the Bad Religion drum tech) is playing an improptu acoustic set at the Vandals bar.
Lyman throws Baker in the wading pool, and Baker is not happy. I on the other hand think it's hysterical. I hang out in the seniors camp and shoot the breeze. I am among friends, and I am happy.
