On Wednesday the three of us hopped the bus and headed for Epcot Centre. The thousands were here too, but somehow the vibe was less frenetic. The rides are more educational, but lots of cool and fun stuff too. It is also nice just to walk around the beautiful and lush grounds. We enjoyed walking around the different country pavillions; we did'nt have time to check them all out but what we saw was cool. We had lunch in 'Germany' complete with strudel, massive beers and an oom pa pa band. Rowan loved the music and the schnitzel. Rowan also totaly loved 'Turtle Talk with Crush'. I have no idea how they did it, but it was awesome. You walk into a big room, with a huge screen at the front. All the children sit on the carpet at the front, and then Crush (the turtle from Finding Nemo) comes on screen and swims around and asks the children questions. The children also get to ask him questions. I thought it would be just a canned movie, but it was not. Very wicked. The three of us also loved the Mission Space ride, which is a simulated launch and rocket ride. I was freaked out because there were air sickness bags in the ride. Rowan really believes she shot into space on a rocket! My tummy was queesy for ages after.
It was a great day. We got back to the hotel, went swimming and then hit the streets of Downtown Disney. Our hotel was right across the street from this place. It is a huge walking area of shops and restaurants. We ate a late dinner (crab, so good!) and then strolled around. We did'nt hit the pillows until very late. Poor John had to wake up at the crack for his conference.
