BigKeeya icon Miami Beach, Florida - The Miami we all know

by BigKeeya

Miami Beach, Florida
5 Stars  This place was Amazing
Busy Ocaen Ave
Miami Beach is the spot. This is the Miami we see in movies and on TV. It is actually an island accessable by several bridges and causeways. This was Miami I had been expecting: Tanned bodies bodies ripped like Jesus, prodigal and opulent living. Apparently, much like Venice Beach, CA, Sunday is floss day in South Beach too. Ocean Ave was crowded with people wanting to be seen and seen as ballers and ballettes. We found a Starbucks to add the Miami Starbuck mug to the collection. We then had lunch at a little place called Finnegan's Way, which was slightly away from the fray, but still on Ocean Ave. Watched the Yankees game while trying the Spinache Artichoke dip. We then found a store with post cards and headed for the card. We had planned to head to Orlando and visit Disney World. We decided to go back to Tampa instead, to see Busch Gardens and the 'nimals.

It was a long way back to Tampa, through the Everglades and up the western coast. Almost 300 miles and five hours away. After about three hours, I was really tired and swtiched with Tanis who did the rest of the driving for the night.
