Key West, Florida - Trying to catch the Sunset

Sunset

The US-1 traverses 128+ miles through the Florida Keys. I wanted to make it Key West to join in the frivality that takes place around sunset. We made it to Key West in time, but there was not parking available at our hotel. We drove around for about 30 minutes looking for parking. We then walked to Mallory Square. We didn't know how far it was, we just headed in that direction. It was probably about a mile and half. We just missed the sunset, but things were still lively, with bands and street perfomers performed for crowds. We had only put 2 hours worth of time in the meter we had to head back to the car through the tourist trap (think Bourbon St.) that was Duval St. We decided to grab our stuff from the car and check into our hotel. We rested for a bit, then headed out for some dinner.

There were pleny of choices on Duval, but not all of them were in our price range. We finally settle on a casual place across the street from the Hard Rock. We tried the Key Lime Punch. It was delicious, I tasted pineapple. We also had a club sandwich and blackened chicken respectively.

We then need to find a place to socialize for the rest of the evening. We wound up at one of those frozen drink joints, but nor before some homeless guy kissed Tanis' hand, giving her 'homeless hand' until she washed it. Tanis had never had a Pina colada, so we had some and sang the Pina Colada song (... Do you like Pina colaada?) After a long day, we headed back to our accommodation to get some sleep.
