I lived here for about six months on Carter´s Horse Ranch and really learned how to ride. There were 75 horses, 5,000 acres of goodness. It was right out of the western movies for me, little Leroy next door riding up with his two guns and a rattler hanging from his horse (the kid was 12). It was the wild west. The ranch was a place for kids from the city to board their horses, delinquents straight out of jail stayed there for rehabilitation, and traveller such as myself could stay. Everybody had chores to do every day, feeding the horses, cleaning the stables, the house, you get the picture. I fell in love with Roxy and Scott Johnston there. If you see them say 'hey' from me.
