When we arrived in Fort Lauderdale we were not disappointed with the apartment, it was great. Plenty room for me, which was good. Mum and Dad's bed could fit 7 in so that was fun!Overall the holiday was fantastic, it was so good to see them all again and we had lots of fun, some highlights were when we went to a show to watch the 4 tops and Temptations, we ordered taxi's but as usual they did not turn up so we ended up flagging one down and all getting in, all 7 of us. It was so funny, I was sat and Rob's knee who was sat on Dad's knee, Barbara was on Tommy's knee and Sam lay across us all.
The concert was excellent, it’s was really upbeat and everyone was standing up and dancing, it was a great atmosphere.
One day was overcast so we did some shopping which all the lady's found fun, but Dad and Tommy had had enough after about an hour. That night as we were all shattered we got pizzas and stayed in the apartment and drank beer.
One day we drove all the way down to Florida Key's, it took us about 5 hours. It was nice when we got there, very quaint and it looked like 'anything goes' sort of place.
One afternoon we got the boat along the river that ran outside mum and dad's bedroom and saw all the millionaires houses, they were just beautiful, apparently Tiger Woods owns one.
On Thanks Giving, Barbara and Tommy went on a cruise to the Bahamas, so we went down to Miami south beach. It was just as you'd expect, loads of fake boobed women pretending to jog, loads of people roller blading on the road and lots of motorbikes. It was fascinating just to watch everyone.
We also went on a trip to the Everglades, it was really interesting and we saw a few alligators.
On the last day we all packed up and struggled again getting all the luggage into the car as we'd all bought extra stuff. Dad kindly dropped me off at Miami South beach, as my flight back to Sydney was not for another 2 days. The goodbyes this time were not as bad as last time, we all know we'll be seeing each other soon in Thailand. We were all still upset but pleased we'd had such a great week.
The hostel in Miami was not the best but on the 2nd day I met 2 lovely girls from England and we had a really good time just hanging out on the beach and playing just jack in my dorm. I'm so pleased I met them as before I was just wishing time away as I just wanted to get back to Sydney, I missed Andy and my family but they took my mind off things and I owe them a lot as they made my stay very enjoyable. Unfortunately it all has to come to an end some time, so now I am back in Sydney, We've both got good jobs, we've found a flat just 10 mins away from work that we are going to move into on Sunday so were are sorted really. We just need to save up some money to get us to New Zealand and Thailand then home!!
