Washington, D.C.
5 Stars  This place was Amazing
This tournament was only Clay and I and Caleb and Shina. We thought that we could clean up because most teams were from the East Coast but Clay and I had some of the dumbest screw ups on permutations. I guess it was still a good showing for SMS...Clay and I were octafinalists and Shina and Caleb lost in sems.

As far as the touring goes, the night of out rounds Heather drove us around as I guided us. This is how I earned my nickname 'Magellan'. We drove around for awhile trying to get close to the White House but finally gave up and parked the van so we could walk. We gazed at the Lincoln Memorial for awhile, walked to the World War II as none of us had seen it before, then I got to lead us through the darkness at midnight to Korea (aka Korean Memorial). There was a lot of complaining but I would not let us give up. This is true perseverance.

I will say that the World War II memorial was pretty cool. The sayings were a bit cliche but its design was powerful. Power...that's the only word that can be used to describe D.C. I was enthralled by it the first time I went and it still had this spellbinding effect on me.
