This place was Amazing

we travelled to La Jolla to visit Simone's family - Marv, Nancy and Craig. The weather was perfect from the moment we stepped off the plane at San Diego.
The family apartment is only a stone's throw from the beach so it's great to go to the shore to watch the sunset. We visited San Diego and did some great hikes around Torrey Pines. The apartment had it's own pool and hot tub - quite a novelty for 2 cumbrian dwelling willow weavers. Craig took us to Joshu Tree National Park. A fantastic breathtaking place to hike. The Joshu Trees are beautiful and weird. We managed to get to the Joshu Tree Inn in seach of the memorial shrine to Gram Parsons of the Byrds. We arrived as the annual Gramfest was finishing but the organiser took time out to show us the memorial and also the room where Gram died.
