Acapulco, Mexico
5 Stars  This place was Amazing
OVERVIEW

Going Loco, in Acapulco that's what visitors of the beach resort come to do. And if you're into that kind of thing, it's a perfect place to do it. There are great beaches, the water is always warm, and the sun always shines. When the sun doesn't shine there is nightlife until the sun comes back up again.

You would probably not expect this, but the city of Acapulco goes back about 2000 years. It was founded by the Nahua indians who were the predecessors of the Aztecs. When Cortes arrived in Mexico, Acapulco was in important trading post.

SIGHTS

Cathedral on the Plaza

This church is a lovely example of Acapulco's history with Spanish, Moorish and native influences.

La Quebrada - Acapulco Cliff Drivers

'Not to be missed' heart stopping entertainment! For generations, brave young men from Acapulco have hurled themselves off the majestic cliffs jutting out over the Pacific Ocean. These fearless fellows dive into a narrow inlet where huge waves enter and crash over the rocks. The timing of their dives is crucial and must be perfectly executed due to the dangerous water conditions below.

The Zocalo

The main public plaza in town. The plaza is surrounded by stores and small restaurants.
