member icon Manzanillo, Mexico - Not Manzanillo but Melaque

Manzanillo, Mexico
north of Manzanillo, but evidentally not in this computer list, so that´s good because therefore low key and lovely beach town with a nice mix of vacationing Mexicans, Canadians, and in-the-know North Americaners. Wé´re staying at HOtel Monterrey, 2 people in a large room, clean and basic, a few steps from the beach for $350p ($35/night). The water here is lovely, the bay is a 2/3 circle with enormous rocks bounding either end. Some trailer parks with the more adventurous Canadians and other folks who spend the winter here. Funky and real. Clean water, good food, inexpensive and no hassling from vendors, no bugs, just joy in life at its most laidback and lovely.

Best sight today was a crowd of about 30-40 50s plus women doing water aerobics in the surf while surrounded and also in the midst of a flock of pelicans. Both kinds of birds were having a great clamor up and down on the waves in the early morning sparkle.

I´ve been taking pictures but this Mexican keyboard and my limited Spanish is keeping me from being more creative here. I wrote for an hour and then lost my tome yet again!
