Kandahar, Afghanistan: This place was Poor; Welcome to a roadside home and market

Kandahar is not a place for you to visit at this time. It is still very hostile here and information shows it will get worse throughout 2006. The National Police and National Army are progressing rapidly in an effort to counteract the Taliban activities. There are numerous training sites for the Police around the Country and we hope for major improvement in the upcoming future. Cities are being rebuilt, people are living in poverty and drug and war lords are still very active. I have travelled from the North region where is is much more calm however still dangerous, to the South and will be here for at least 1 year attempting to help educate the Police in a New democratic reform style.
