Entry 3, May 14 - Just wanted to share a few more photos. We visited a few museums this weekend and tried out the San Sebastian night life. Ate and ate and ate some more and watched a game of pelota de manos - sort of like racquetball, but they only use their hands. Looked terribly difficult. Max is happy that the Giro de Italia is on two different channels here, but one is in Basque and one is in German.
Entry 2, May 10 - We are almost through with our first week of Spanish class and it is going really well. Max is in a class ahead of me - couldnīt bear to be reciting the alphabet all day. Iīm perfectly happy reciting the alphabet. Anyway, we have discovered that the food here is unbelievable - havenīt had anything we didnīt like yet. We had two days of great weather this week and headed to the beach. Found out clothes are somewhat optional there - quite a surprise. Max tried his hand at surfing and emerged with only a bit of a bruise above his right eye - pretty good. We are the only Americans in either of our classes, which is fun. Learning lots about other cultures/countries. Happy early Motherīs Day to all the moms.
Entry 1, May 6 - We arrived here yesterday and met our host family. Clara is the mother and she has two girls, Claudia and Joy. They have been very accomodating and welcoming. We hope to explore some of the city today. We had a bit of trouble finding Clara last night and all the bars had people spilling out of them. Apparently there was an important soccer\football game and they take it very seriously here.
We explored San Sebastian a bit today and it was great. We are about five minutes from the beach and about thirty seconds from anything we would want to eat or drink. The family we are with is great. School begins tomorrow and weīve realized we have virtually no Spanish skills
