I've had such a busy day
this morning i was working in the adult day centre at Hospice 'Casa Sperantei'. I was making Christmas cards with some of the patients. In the day centres the patients make a variety of crafts to sell to the public to help raise funds for the Hospice. The sun was shining this morning and everyone seemed in good spirits despite their illness, one of the patients had me dancing with him to Julio Inglesis and trying to play the piano.
Carmen, one of the amazing nurses that works at the Hospice gave me a small gift to thank me for volunteering there and she said some really kind words that I'm not gonna share with you!
Then I went to the ticket agency to buy my inter-rail ticket and train ticket to Cluj (Romanian town north-west of Brasov) I'm leaving at 1.30AM on Wednesday. I've only got one full day left here & i've got so much to do its crazy.
Afterwards i went to Codlea to spend a little more time with the kids there. I took some photos of them helping prepare food in the kitchen (photos will be uploaded asap)& fooling about in the playground. By time i arrived at Codlea the sun vanished & it was pouring of rain, the kids were all dancing & splashing about in the puddles. I stayed inside playing a romanian game that's cross between dominoes & cards with some of the older boys. For the past week or two they've been asking me when i'm leaving & telling them how much they're gonna miss me....its gonna be so difficult saying final goodbyes tomorrow
Anyway the plan for tomorrow is: get photos from Cinema & Restaurant trip that i took 21 of the kids on Saturday, get copies for all the kids that came, visit Cristian once more, say all my goodbyes at Codlea, try to fit everything back into by rucksack, food shopping, make up sandwiches & stuff for 5 hour train journey coz they don't sell food or drinks on many trains here, then get ready for my last nite out in Brasov. Yip it's Karaoke night at Deane's Irish bar again - I'm going with most of my Romanian friends and September group of volunteers. Then i'll just need to dash back to my flat & get taxi to train station.....
Private Notes
Present from Carmen - colours represent me - red for passion & green for calmness. She thanked me for all my help & said I hope you never change. A few of the other doctors & staff came by to thank me for all my work both in the day centre & fundraising
