Warsaw, Poland

Maybe the 11:47am train wasn’t the best idea. It was the slow train which stopped at all the small towns from Vilnius to Warsaw. At least the train wasn’t busy and we could spread out and catch up on some sleep.
When we arrived in Warsaw we found the hostel and set off to explore the town by night. First stop was a restaurant. We found one open, surprising since it was 11pm. I had a pork knuckle. The greatest pork knuckle ever! It was huge. And accompanied with some great roast potatoes and a cabbage and bacon mix. After 11 hours on a train and no food it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
The next day we explored the streets of Warsaw and visited the Uprising museum. Outside the museum there are some great statues. One depicts an attack by Polish troops during the Warsaw uprising, the other is a scene of the soldiers escaping through the sewers.
Warsaw was a great place, and when they finish digging up and relaying the main street it’ll be even better. I’ll add it to my list of places I want to come back to.
