I liked Utrecht slightly more than Groningen. I stayed for 5 days but 3 would be better. Lots of people riding bikes, more bikes than cars. There was a big mall with a market outside. Inside was a McDonald's and the usual shops. The train station connects to the mall. Nice walking place, canals etc.
