Monte Carlo, Monaco - Not just for princes anymore

My favorite part of this opulent city is the Princess Grace rose garden, It’s about half an acre large and has 49 different types of roses. Just walking into it is like taking a shower. It’s a must see just to chill out and take deep breaths among the sweetest oxygen you’ve ever smelled.

Getting to Monaco is quite easy and we zipped up from Cannes in less than 30 minutes on the a8 and that’s with grand prix traffic!

The grand prix, held on the city streets around late May, features the fastest cars in the world taking the sharpest turns. I had a nice spot in some Italian guys’ apartment overlooking the finish line. He said he paid 3000 euros a night for the pad and we were crashing it and drinking his champagne!

The race itself is very loud! Duh, right? The cars zip by and are almost impossible to see they are driving so fast. I saw a crash right near out locale and instaneously a crane swoops in and picks up the hurt f1 racing car to take it away. It looks very much like a video game, the grand prix does. At night we went onto the Gumball rally boat and had a nice 4 course meal with unlimited great French wines. All in all a great night and just a short hop from Cannes with comfy beds.
