This place was Amazing
-
Saturday (still) - For those of you who don't know, Ralph Williams is a professor at Michigan who taught some courses in the English and Religious Studies departments (probably some others as well, but those were the courses I took). His email address is fiesole@umich.edu and the every course he teaches, he explains why. The short version of it is that when he was younger he visited the city and though it was just amazing. I found out that its actually a city just north of Florence (it was originally a separate city...its actually even older and was founded by the Etruscan civilization, but is now like a suburb of Florence). Its situated on the hillside above Florence. I took the bus up there in the early evening and it was totally worth the trip. The views of the valley were breathtaking. I snapped a few shots looking down into the city, and a few of the sun setting over the mountains. I can see why Dr. Williams was so crazy about the place. Living there must be spectacular. And, now, I can say Ive been to Fiesole!! Tomorrow is another ambitious day. Im going to try and squeeze in the Bargello in the morning, than Ive bought a train ticket to Pisa, with a bit of a layover, and from there I head to Rome.
