Outside the mighty San Siro
Ted and Pig are naturally big fans of match of the day. But one day last year they both got suddenly bored of their favourite saturday night dose of football. They began to long for something more exciting. They decided to visit some of the worlds most famous football stadiums to rekindle their love of the beautiful game.
What better place to start than the mighty San Siro.In October 2003 Ted and Pig packed their little suitcases and headed for Stansted Airport. They caught the 8.00am morning flight to Bergamo. On arrival they took the airpot bus to Milan. The bus dropped them outside Milan's mighty railway station. It wasn't long before they had booked a hotel for two nights at the station's tourist information office. The hotel was situated just a few hundred yards from the main entrance of the station however our two little heroes had difficulty finding it at first. They had mistaken the side entrance of the station for the front so it took them some time to find their very comfortable hotel which cost them €90 for two nights. (Milan's station is mightily impressive don't get confussed like our heroes )
Ted and Pig were exhausted when they arrived at their hotel. They had been up all night traveling to Stansted the night before. They decided to go shopping for some pop and crisps before having themselves a little sleep in their very comfortable beds.
At about 7.30 they woke and had a shower in their en suite bathroom. They decided to explore the city and soon found temselves in a beautiful little resturant where they enjoyed a pizza and a bottle of fine italian wine. They were so excited about going to the San Siro the next day that they decided to have an early night and returned to their hotel room where they sat on their beds watching match of the day on cable t.v. They sat together enjoying their pop and crisps for some time before they finally went to bed.
The next day Pig was keen to get to the stadium to try and buy a ticket at face value. He loathed the thought of paying tout prices. But Little Ted had different ideas. Being a sophisticated bear he needed to go shopping for some of lifes little essentials. Pig tried to tell him that the shops would be shut on Sunday and that he should have gone yesterday instead of sleeping all afternoon.Little Ted was having none of it and they were soon in the middle of Milan shopping.
