the old town from across the river
Ventimiglia is a fantastic busy town only half an hours train ride from Menton in France. The Friday street market is massive with tons of bargains for much less than the tourist shops in Menton. We bought a new duvet, and tablecloths and chair cushions.
It's also a good idea to go into Ventimiglia for good food and also fantastic coffee. The old town is amazing and well worth the steep climb up the cobbled streets.
It's also a great starting point to explore the Ligurian coastline.
