We couldn't leave Naples fast enough! We were up early the next morning for the trip down to Torre del Grecco on the CircumVesuviana. We came across a wonderful free lance taxi driver who took us up to our hotel, the Hotel Marad, in two trips and accepted the equivalent of about $5.00 for his troubles. This place was like night-and-day compared to the Colombo. It was only classed as a three star hotel, but really could have been given four. There was a real lobby, and three restaurants, and clean well-appointed rooms with full-size bathrooms. There was also a pool. And when we walked out on our balconies, we could look to one side and see the Bay of Naples with Sorrento and Capri in the distance. When we looked in the opposite direction, we saw Mt. Vesuvius framed in the beautiful Umbrella Pines that the area is famous for.
