The ancient theater is the one the Romans copied to make their own in Rome! And the...drinking water, one of the best tasting in the world! The Roman emperors, build aquaducts to bring the water from the mountains to the city, about 50 kilometers away, and of course some of it, was shipped to the Roman emperors, on Roman frigates, to accompany and enreach their feasts!
The population of the island is about 150,000. The city of Mitilini, and the little towns to the airport, about 10 kilometers, form the greater Mitilini with a population of about 60,000. people! On top of that, there are at least 10,000. Albanians immigrant-workers as well as another 30,000. immigrant workers from countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania,and FYROM(Skopyi-The Albano-Bulgarian-Gypsy state))north of Macedonia, Greece! Even Chinese people selling their goods in the streets and in
stores!
The majority of waiters and waitresses in hotels, restaurants, bars, theaters, cinemas, coffee shops, sports clubs, big sports clubs, Olympic size swimming pools, dancing clubs, , and there are many, speak...broken Greek!!!
There are daily trips to Turkey as well, for about 10 to 20 euros each way!
