The Artisan's Market in Masaya, surrounded by castle walls, has every souvenir you could want. Yet only a few more blocks down the street, the new market (where the locals shop) has roughly the same selection for much less. This market has alot more local color and flavor than the other, it's dirtier, it's louder, and parts just plain stink. The craft/souvenir section has a large selection of goods selling at almost half the price of the Artisan's Market. Besides local crafts, you can find seafood, produce, clothes (lots of clothes!) and many variedad/miscelánea stores. I like to get my Christmas shopping done here, for family back in the States as well as new friends here.
