This place was Great

Today was truly a once in a lifetime Russian experience. We arrived in yartsevo which seemed to consist only of our hotel 'Hotel Oasis' on the highway in the middle of nowhere. We were met by dodgy Mike selling dodgy souveniers and vodka. We then went to our room where the water was so gross that we couldn't shower and we had a toilet that did not flush. Yet being on Contiki with some cool people we still managed to have a great night drinking russian vodka although my night was cut short as I wasn't feeling too well due to dodgy food so went to bed early, although I did hear a number of entertaining stories from later in the night.
After dinner we were entertained by an interesting show which is one way to put it. This was a show that Che was told that he had to pay for. It seems there were a lot of incidences where Che had to pay for extras to keep the whole holiday running smoothly!!
Yartsevo was to be the end of the Russian experience. It was an amazing week that we spent in Russia, very removed from my normal daily life. I learnt heaps, saw amazing sights and had a fantastic time although we were all looking forward to getting back to Western European cities with good food and clean water and toilets.
