Here for three nights. It breaks up the journey to Kuala Lumpur. This place is cool in its own right though. It is certainly not as clean or ordered as Singapore but it is a totally different kind of city. This place is still mostly undeveloped although there is plenty of that going on. There are Rickshaws with bikes replacing the typical running man. They are really colourful too being decorated with flowers. At night many of them have christmas lights all over them. They dont even look like bikes anymore.
The river here is really dirty and has much of the poorer population living on its banks. Even though the water is so dirty, it still has large lizards swimming up and down its length. They dont stay in the river either as June found out when one surprised her by coming out of a drain onto the path. Lots of old buildings in the place, many dating back to the 1600's. There is also the remains of an old fort from when the portugese were here. Walking through the streets I never cease to be amazed by all the crap these people eat. Admittedly I am gonna have to eat some of this stuff myself if I wish to survive but its sometimes smells sooo bad!
