This city is fairly big news as far as northern Malaysian cities go. It's got a bit of a skyline and the Alor Star Tower is something you can't miss. At the top it provides a great view of the surrounding area and city below...but be careful on windy days...the observation deck is not entirely sealed indoors. The shopping is lackluster and the Star Walk (another KL rip off) is kinda pathetic with used shoes being sold on the sidewalk and food outlets and cafes which resemble the kind of food outlet found in a bus terminal.
