This city was severly hit by the quake and tsunami of 26 December 2004. Part of the city was destroyed. Wat remains is crowdy but pleasant, but not particularly beautiful
Most famous landmark is Mesjid Raya, the Great Mosque. Its amazingly beautiful and hasnt lost anything of its grandeur.
