We got taken out to our campsite across the inland rivers by mokoro (basically a dug out tree trunk, made from the sausage tree, among others). Our mokoro was guided by our local poler called Chris (a traditional Botswanan name, apparently!!). We spent the night in the wilds with elephants very close by but none of us were attacked, which was nice. We got to 'drive' the mokoros by ourselves which was easy when going straight forward or back but really difficult to turn. At night all the polers and guides sang some Botswanan tunes (I think) around the campfire. We sang Flower Of Scotland (badly) back to them as well as Old MacDonald Had A Farm!!!!! The polers looked totally bemused by this!
